SEC Reporting Analyst/Sr- P&C Insurance - Public Greater Houston, TXNo opportunity to work remotely - Hybrid work week is possible10% Bonus eligible
Newly filed public carrier will build out their reporting staff to include a SEC Reporting Analyst and a Sr Reporting Analyst.
Responsibilities might include and not limited to:Preparation of all external financial reports, such as Forms 10-K/10-Q, earnings releases, proxy statements, and other mandated SEC submissions, ensuring compliance with the US GAAP and SEC standardsPrepare supporting documentation, coordinate data collection across departments, validate data and disclosures included in SEC filings, and prioritize completeness, accuracy, and reliability of financial informationAccumulate financial data needed for financial statement disclosures and assist in drafting relevant financial statements and SEC disclosuresAssist with the preparation of schedules, analysis, and/or entries for complex accounting matters, including but not limited to, lease accounting, acquisition accounting, asset impairment, EPS, and stock-based compensationAssist with the technical accounting research, analysis, documentation, and enablement of significant or complex accounting mattersAssist with the integration of new accounting and reporting standards, designing new processes, and ensuring compliance with the new reporting requirementsAssist with the implementation of process and/or system improvements related to reporting and technical accounting, as neededParticipate in the integration of controls as mandated by SOXWork with auditors to coordinate the quarterly reviews and the annual auditAssist in the preparation of ad hoc financial reports for executive management and other stakeholders
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in accountingMin of 2+ years of public accounting experience; orMin of 3+ years of financial reporting experience, preferably in a public companyWorking knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reportingSelf-starter with the ability to perform detailed work with speed and accuracyAttention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in preparing workAbility to interpret financial statements, analyze results, and identify key issuesProficient in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word and MS ExcelWorkiva experience is a plus
