At AIG, technology is at the heart of everything we do, from underwriting risks to processing claims. The Information Technology team equips our colleagues with the latest tools to complete their work efficiently and with the highest standards of excellence. The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance.

About the role

You will be joining a technology team that collaborates with worldwide colleagues and partners every day to deliver complex projects in support of our business. The Technology Delivery group provides enterprise-wide IT solutions for all of AIG’s specialized disciplines. You will be part of a team that handles the delivery of technical solutions for the Specialty Lines of business.

Responsibilities

This position requires experience in handling large complex projects, working with vendors, understanding of Java frameworks, microservices architecture and cloud enablement.

Lead the development of the delivery of reusable frameworks and API integration patterns by partnering with architecture and platform teams.

Partner with Enterprise Architecture to define and design scalable solutions to meet complex business needs.

Oversee and assist development teams in executing projects on time and compliant to architecture.

Troubleshoot complex issues during the project and provide solutions to solve the problem.

Understand technical and deployment architecture.

Peer review code to ensure quality, scalable and secure solutions are delivered which are compliant to AIG’s coding standards.

Requirements

8-10 years’ experience in Application Development with Java, Spring and Micro Services knowledge

Team player who can own end to end development/ deployment/configuration.

Experience in Insurance Industry is a plus.

Experience in Technical Delivery using Agile methodology.

Experience in FICO Blaze and Duck Creek

A proven track record in execution of large-scale projects execution with globally distributed teams

Strong programming skills in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC framework, RESTful API

Good knowledge of DevOps tools, Jenkins, GitHub.

Should have exposure for CI/CD activities and expertise in software development methodologies.

Solid understanding of Design Patterns and Microservices concepts

Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and models

Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail.

Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment.

Strong communication skills both verbal and written to develop technical documentation.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to think strategically and drive business outcomes.

Ability to perform under pressure and detail oriented.

Dedicated commitment to service availability and quality user experience.

Must be results driven with a strong sense of urgency.

The base salary range for this position in Jersey City, NJ, is $ 99,000 143,000 . In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
