Summary About the Position: This position is with the 310th Expeditionary Support Command, under the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, located in Indianapolis, IN Responsibilities Serve as an advisor on matters such as: training, administration, supply, maintenance, public relations, resource management and recruiting. Create innovative plans to maintain the unit(s) mobilization readiness. Exercise managerial oversight of a military command budget. Perform quality control over the Command and higher headquarters created programs Resolve major employee grievances or complaints. Conduct performance evaluations for employees. Supervise the daily activities of both civilian and military full-time staff. Identify training needs of employees to meet mission requirements. Develop Command-wide policies to increase effectiveness of operations and functions. Organize the Commands financial/resource management programs Sustain liaison with other Commands and external agencies. Assign work priorities to align with organization's mission objectives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising Command leaders in the areas of: organizational administration, military/civilian personnel, resource management, supply management, public relations and Command missions; placing and interviewing candidates; counseling/evaluating employees and dealing with disciplinary actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12). Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Knowledge Management Leadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. One year supervisory probationary period may be required. As a supervisor, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements. The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into a supervisory position and then completed as a refresher course every three years.
