Payroll Specialist

Duration: Full Time


 Payroll Processing: Responsible for the processing weekly, biweekly or semimonthly

payroll for over 300 employees, including data entry, timekeeping,

and calculation of wages and deductions.

 Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate employee records, including changes in

salary, benefits, tax withholding, and personal information.

 Verification: Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or

issues related to hours worked.

 Benefit Administration: Assist with the administration of employee benefits,

including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.

 Tax, Benefit and Garnishment Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and

timely submission of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local

withholding as well as garnishments and benefits.

 Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed, including year-end reports

such as W-2s and other reporting requirements. Also include reconciliation of

monthly benefit statements for accuracy.

 Communication: Address employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, portal

usage and deductions promptly and professionally.

 Record Keeping: Maintain organized and secure payroll records in

compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

 Compliance: Stay current with federal and state payroll laws and regulations

to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance.

 Confidentiality: Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll

operations by keeping all private information confidential.

 Special Projects: Assist in special projects as assigned by management.


Payroll Specialist Requirements and Qualifications

 High school diploma or equivalent

 CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus.

 Prior experience in payroll processing or a similar role is a plus.

 Proficiency in various payroll software programs

 Strong MS Office skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

 Strong mathematical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

 Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

 Strong organizational and time management skills.

 Team player with a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.

 Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize in deadline-driven environment and

work under pressure.
