About the Team

The IT SysOps Team, part of the Security Organization, manages IT Engineering Operations, Systems Administration, and Engineering for IT Support. As a SaaS Analyst on this team, you will manage vendor relationships, ensure timely renewals, true-ups, and updates of critical applications, and align software with OpenAI's business and compliance needs. You'll coordinate with software vendors on requirements, oversee licensing, and work with stakeholders to improve business processes. Key responsibilities include managing data reporting, providing user training and documentation, and driving the implementation of new software and upgrades. Your continuous learning in the SaaS landscape will enhance our operational efficiency and support organizational success.

About the Role

In this role, you will manage IT software procurement processes, conduct risk analysis, and collaborate closely with IT, Security, and Procurement teams to navigate vendor engagements. Your primary focus will be on portfolio management and optimizing SaaS performance, using your expertise to refine business practices. You will analyze complex data to inform strategic decisions, requiring strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques is essential for evaluating and presenting your findings effectively.

Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work cross-functionally with stakeholders across departments, such as Procurement and GRC. Effective communication is crucial to convey insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitate discussions, and align stakeholders around desired security controls and practices.

Responsibilities Vendor Management: Oversee software vendor relationships, including license audits and renewals, ensuring applications are up-to-date and well-maintained. Portfolio Management: Partner with stakeholders to assess and streamline software solutions, focusing on consolidation opportunities, cost reduction through proactive license reclamation, and process simplification. Vendor Consolidation and Solutions Development: Help users identify the right tools for their specific use-cases by evaluating existing vendors, consolidating overlapping solutions, and developing recommendations that align with business needs. Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze requirements for new applications or enhancements that align with business objectives. Application Support and Maintenance: Coordinate incident and problem management with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently. Process Improvement: Identify and implement workflow improvements to optimize application usage. Data Analysis and Reporting: Configure reporting features to generate insights into business operations. Training and Documentation: Develop user guides and conduct training sessions to enhance productivity. Project Management: Plan and implement new software systems or upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. You Might Thrive in This Role If You:

Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Excel at aligning application features with business goals through effective requirements gathering and analysis. Process Improvement: Have a track record of identifying and implementing workflow optimizations to enhance efficiency and user satisfaction. Project Management: Are adept at planning and executing software system implementations or upgrades within scope and deadlines. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize reporting tools to provide actionable insights into application performance. Training and Documentation: Develop user-friendly documentation and conduct training to maximize user productivity and engagement.

This is a hybrid role and will require 3 days a week in our San Francisco office.
