Summary Implements corporate policy at the business unit or division level. Facilitates organization and leadership development efforts, working with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues. May play a significant role in administering talent management and succession planning activity within client organization. Resolves employee relations issues through a systematic approach. Assists senior management in the development of solutions through cultural and process perspective organizational development. Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock option grants renewal, workforce planning, and organizational change). Often viewed as a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of the line management staff. May report to business unit line management directly with dotted-line relationship to human resources or report directly to human resources with dotted-line relationship to management. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Description

Performs all required people management responsibilities including but not limited to: implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines; ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varex's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.

Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. LEVEL DESCRIPTION

Scope

Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization. Interaction

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers. Interaction normally involves matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Supervision

Manages the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. May manage through subordinate supervisors, and is responsible to develop reporting managers. Typical Education and Experience
