IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, CANDIDATES MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF INVESTIGATOR, OR REACHABLE ON THE INVESTIGATOR CIVIL SERVICE LIST, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55A PROGRAM.
Under supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision, performs the following:SurveillancesInterrogates subjects and witnessesExamines and analyzes employee recordsMaintains case records, prepares reportsAnalyzes agency recordsMakes recommendations as to appropriate action to be taken following investigationTestifies at hearings, may be required to testify at court proceedingsMay work in close coordination with City investigatory agenciesAnalyzes and evaluates existing and proposed agency proceduresConducts security surveys of agency operations and facilitiesDevelops security plansPerforms training in detection and control procedures to limit misconduct, and incompetency to other agency staffMinimum Qualifications:A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and three years of satisfactory full-time experience as an investigator evaluating credit worthiness, searching for assets, verifying information concerning education, experience, and other personal qualifications bearing upon character and fitness for employment; orAn associate degree from an accredited college or university or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in "1" above; orA baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; orA satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.Preferred Skills:Operational knowledge of Security CCTV cameras and recording devicesOperational knowledge of Mobile handheld devices i.e. tablets, laptops, Cellular phonesOperational knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10, MS Word and MS ExcelValid NYS Driver's LicenseAble to lift and carry 40lbs55a Program:
