Analyze, design, verify, validate, implement, apply and maintain software systems. Appropriately apply discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, and other relevant topics in computer science and supporting disciplines to complex software systems. Generalize techniques, as appropriate, to apply to multiple domains. Develop and provide appropriate documentation and training. Present briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Capabilities

Perform Database Administration (DBA) activities on a daily basis such as monitoring storage, database performance, and RMAN back up verification

Ensure standby DataGuard databases are functioning properly with minimal lag time

Develop strategies to migrate data between environments

Identify and resolve database performance issues

Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities

Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts.

Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schemas

Create and update data models using PowerDesigner

Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development.

Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.

Direct the development of complex systems using queries, tables, Open -Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval

Required Qualifications

TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly

Fifteen (15) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Required Technical Skills

Oracle, Linux, SQL, scripting

1 week of on-call support every 3-5 weeks required after ramp-up

Desired Technical Skills

Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN backups, Oracle Enterprise Monitoring (OEM)

Experience with Jira and Confluence

Experience with Relational database design tools such as Power Designer

$98.16 - $132.90 an hourPay Range: $98.16 - $132.90 per hour*Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
