To help with business development and project management, JMT is looking for a self-motivated individual with working knowledge of the energy market. JMT performs engineering and professional services in Energy Management, Decarbonization, Fossil Fuels and Renewable Energy.Position summary:
Responsible for delivering all project objectives for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget.Essential functions and responsibilitiesTechnical & Sales Leadership & Expertise
Build and maintain an active sales and business development role for the company with an emphasis on select market and service area growth (Energy Market focus).Manage and document business development and sales efforts in our client management system.Maintain a thorough knowledge of several functional areas plus technical specialization in one or more areaBuild and maintain a thorough knowledge of technical practices, principles, and interrelationships of broad areas and knowledge of general business practicesServe as a technical advisor and knowledge resource by training and assisting other team membersDevelop team subject matter experts
Project/Program ManagementEstablish client and project plans aligned with practice and market objectivesBuild, maintain and diversify strong client relationshipsParticipate in selecting project team(s)Manage team workflow for maximum efficiency and profitabilityHandle meetings, work sessions, public hearings and applicable trade showsPrepare change orders and addenda to contractsEffectively communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with other practices and markets to maximize efficiency and customer serviceManage and complete the project billing processAssume ultimate responsibility for the collection of amounts due, utilizing the accounting staff in the collection of fees as neededMake significant decisions which have broad impact on our markets and operations
Staff Management
Supervise, develop, and mentor direct reportsEvaluate and anticipate knowledge and skill needs and ensure appropriate project staffing levels to meet themCoordinate internal work activities internally to provide seamless client serviceSet team performance standards to meet practice and market goals of company and coach team members in order to achieve high performanceHold direct reports accountable to meeting Success Plan and team goals
Nonessential functions and responsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program or equivalent training and experienceLicensed Professional Engineer10+ years' experience working in the energy field or on energy related projects
Preferred ExperienceEnergy related experience - design and/or field relatedPMP (Project Management Professional) CertificationExperience working with local clients at the county and state levelExperience working with/for national and regional energy clients and ESCO'sProject management and business development experienceExperience managing multidiscipline project teams
Working ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
