The programs are designed to treat adolescents with a variety of diagnoses and behaviors, including autism spectrum disorder, depression, anxiety and mood disorders, learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral challenges. We are committed to improving the quality of life, fostering independence and integration into society through skill development and community engagement because everyone deserves a great future.Position Details:Full-Time and Part-TimeLocation: North HillsKey Responsibilities:Conduct individual and group activities to help teen-aged residents who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or emotional and behavioral challenges achieve their goals, develop their social skills and resolve problems.Qualifications:BA or BS Degree; OR Child Development Teaching Permit; OR 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development or Foster and Kinship Care Education and at least 100 hours experience working with youth; OR Certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth; OR Vocational Training certificate, credential or documentation as a trade journey-person in vocational skills and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, or tutor; OR One year of previous employment as a full-time staff or volunteer at a group home, STRTP or substance abuse treatment program; OR Relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice system as a consumer or caregiver.You must have a valid California Driver License and good driving record (required!), and be insurable for driving with the agency’s insurance company.Benefits:The Help Group offers wonderful training opportunities, a supportive, professional work environment, and great benefits, including:Insurance plans for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance - options for 100% employer sponsored plans.403b Retirement Plan.529 College Savings Plan.Employee Assistance Program through MetLife.Flexible Spending Account.Vacation and Sick Leave.BenefitHub - Employee Rewards and Incentives.Pet Insurance.Learn more about our Residential Programs here:Project 6 & The CommonsThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of The Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
