We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our team. We are looking for someone who is responsible for the administration, technical design, planning, implementation, securing, performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. The candidate will serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration with physical and virtual servers, operating systems to include RedHat Linux 6-8, AIX is not a must but would be a plus. The role will also assist in providing support and administration to operate Oracle, PeopleSoft, VMware, Google Cloud Platform and other cloud SaaS platforms.

The candidate needs to be a motivated self-starter, team player, resourceful, willing to share their knowledge and know when to ask for help.

Main Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage Enterprise critical server platforms, both virtual and physical.

Technical troubleshooting and vendor case management.

Set up user accounts, manage file permissions and audit security.

Performance monitoring and tuning of corporate systems.

Work with PeopleSoft team to install PeopleSoft Tools and Application Software.

Work with PeopleSoft team to troubleshoot PeopleSoft related to configuration on Linux.

Work closely with Oracle team to troubleshoot and administer Exadata Oracle Database servers.

Apply updates and patches to Linux systems and applications using RedHat Satellite.

Strong skills using Ansible and shell scripts.

Upgrade and migrate EOL Linux systems.

Ensure successful backup of Linux systems.

Support systems development in troubleshooting, patching, updating and implementing applications.

Rotate on call platform support for both Linux and Windows.

Minimum Qualifications:

Computer Science or Engineering degree preferred.

5+ years Linux Systems Administration in a corporate environment.

Infrastructure experience – Server, Storage, Linux, DHCP, DNS, NFS.

Deep competency in Linux operating system concepts, networking and authentication protocols.

Familiarity with Windows server operating system.

Experience managing enterprise backup and recovery.

Experience with database systems.

Experience with system performance monitoring tools.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Dependable, professional, attentive to detail, ability to prioritize and self-directed.

Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.

Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, works well under pressure, independent problem solving skills.

Ability to plan, organize, document complex system design activities and configure systems to be consistent with policies/procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with RedHat 6, 7, 8.

Experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux and Exadata.

Experience with PERL and shell scripting.

PeopleSoft support and troubleshooting.

Docker container-related technologies like Kubernetes.

Experience with warehouse management systems.

Experience with Linux printing.

Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
