Position DescriptionThe Business System Analyst II will serve as the primary systems manager for a designated set of platforms. This individual will be responsible for handling needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align the technology of the company with their business strategies. Individual will receive business needs from internal stakeholders, solicit product and enhancement requirements from end users and must be able to convert the requests from both into a workable solution which optimizes business and end user value. This individual will also be responsible for overall system design documentation and assisting in successful rollout of new features and enhancements.Position AccountabilitiesFacilitate and translate business requirements into technical requirements to guide the implementation of new features, systems, and enhancements and upgradesWork with vendors to ensure the system solution satisfies the business requirementsMeet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to help identify business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goalsAct as technical focal point for the business in the presentation of the new system/application to Application and Architecture Review BoardLead design sessions in prototyping new system or functionality for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow; develop diagrams and flowcharts of system view Technical mapsDevelop and maintain design documentation (data flow diagrams, workflows) working across the organization for documenting integration points between systemsProvide systems analysis (e.g. creation of technical requirements, access framework, data flow and operational process mapping, system testing) expertise focusing on gap identificationImprove systems and operational workflows by studying current practices and designing modifications/enhancementsHelp identify control points in new systems designs and workflows and works with customers to ensure the working environments are properly controlledReview and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systemsProvide ongoing support structure is in place and the Roles and Responsibilities are documented before an application or system is approved for production readiness and other impacted applications/systems are included in the assessmentPerform troubleshooting role in triage mode in alignment with the Problem and Incident Troubleshooting process.Represent production changes to the Change Control Board complying with the requirements of this processRepresent project related system change efforts in Change Control Board ForumActively participate in and lead system and unit testing for modified and new systems and other post-implementation supportResponsible for handling needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align the technology of the company with their business strategiesOrganizational RelationshipThis assignment will report to the assigned functional leader.Position QualificationsEducation RequirementsCollege diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, engineering, or management information systems or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 10+ years related work experience.Knowledge & SkillsStrong IT background with an understanding of banking operations, products, processes and proceduresExcellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.Highly self-motivated and directed along with strong critical thinking and engineering/re-engineering skillsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and work though workflow analysis.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and customer centric environment.Familiarity with corporate security policies and managing user access/profilesSeneca Resources is client driven provider of strategic Information Technology consulting services and Workforce Solutions to government and industry.
