Overview
TRC Energy Services (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.TRC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to support our commercial and industrial energy program implementation within our client's service territory. Projects and responsibilities may include energy engineering analyses, project QA/QC, on-site inspections, energy modeling and customer meetings.Eligible candidates will be a hands-on, highly skilled resource and possess strong technical capabilities including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, green building and sustainability. Background and/or degrees in mechanical, electrical or energy engineering, sustainability and/or energy efficiency is preferred. The position is located in Nashville Tennessee but includes travel to building sites throughout the Clients service territory.
Responsibilities
Conduct on-site inspections to verify installation of energy projects are consistent with designs and scopes of workWork with senior engineers to draft and implement Measurement and Verification Plans, including field instrumentation and meter deploymentPerform energy audits for commercial customers to determine potential energy efficiency improvements.Conduct energy analysis and whole building modeling (simulations)Identify operations and maintenance energy savings opportunities in buildingsDeliver high quality reports requiring minimal quality control effortsManage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and client expectationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed the customer's expectationsSkills needed for this assignment include, but are not limited to:Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical componentsDemonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teamsExceptional organizational, time-management and planning skillsAbility to work independently as well as the ability to work in a team atmosphere to collaborate with multiple stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:Engineering experience: entry levelBachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy EngineeringAEE, IEEE, ASHRAE, ASME, etc certifications are a plusExperience with energy modeling software a strong plusAptitude for communicating (written and oral) technical and program concepts to clients, contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skillsExcellent computer skills: proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologiesValid driver's license; position entails travelLegal ability to work in the U.S.Benefits:
