Lighting Designer/L1
in the East Williamsburg/Bushwick area as we are looking to scale up our lighting department to host more complex productions. We are hoping for the person in this position to grow and learn together with us.
WHO YOU ARESomeone who is highly organizedSomeone who is able to juggle multiple projects at once and prioritize with a high degree of accuracySomeone who is reliable and has a “no task too small” attitudeSomeone who can keep calm under high pressure situations
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMa2/Ma3 lighting console programming and operation, sACN, ART-NET and MA networking protocolsExcellent working knowledge of LX networking / mappingProgramming and control of entertainment and architectural lighting systemsExcellent working knowledge of LX power and data distributionExcellent working knowledge of basic Entertainment Rigging and Rigging Practices
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSRequired proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, and its applications such asDocs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive- including Shared Drives, and Google Groups for seamless team communication. Basic training is provided to ensure effective utilization of these tools for collaboration, communication, and document management.3+ years relevant lighting design experience in a wide variety of event venuesAbility to pay attention, adapt to changes, and function well in a live production settingExceptional communication skills with internal teams, artist’s and client’s teams, and vendorsInnovative thinker, organized, and able to adjust to multiple and changing prioritiesPreferred - Certifications as Machinery operator; scissor, fork, boom, etcPreferred - knowledge of Vectorworks, AutoCAD
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be willing to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and possible holidaysMust be willing to work outdoors (all seasons)Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 poundsMust be comfortable climbing ladders and being in liftsMust be comfortable working in an environment with moderate to loud noise levelSpecific Vision Requirements: Color Vision & Depth Perception
COMPENSATION : The hourly rate for this position starts at $50/hr-$65/hr, and is negotiable based on experience.
