This role involves advising public school districts and other public agencies across California on a range of labor and employment matters. Duties
Provide counsel on labor and employment law matters for public school districts and agenciesDraft and review employment contracts, policies, and proceduresAdvise on collective bargaining, contract grievances, and dispute resolutionHandle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and employee misconductGuide clients through layoffs, disciplinary actions, and dismissalsConduct legal research and prepare documentation to support casesCollaborate with clients to assess needs and develop legal strategiesRequirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive membership in the State Bar of California and in good standingMinimum of 2 years of experience in employment law, with a preference for public agency or education lawProficiency in legal research, writing, and analysisStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to serving educational institutions and public agenciesEducation
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institutionCertifications
Licensed to practice law in CaliforniaSkills
