Position and Salary

The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full-time Fiscal Analyst 3 in the Financial Services Division. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington, and is not union-represented. Note: there is the possibility of an in-training from the Fiscal Analyst 2 level.

Fiscal Analyst 3 Salary Range 50: $52,920 - $71,148.

Fiscal Analyst 2 Salary Range 44: $45,732 - $61,404.

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:

Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.

Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.

About the Financial Services Division:

The Financial Services Division (FIS) provides support and accountability for agency financial and budgetary decisions and practices. Our primary goal is to protect and enhance the financial health and resources of the Office of the Attorney General including providing efficient, centrally located accounting, budgeting, payroll, contracts and grant services and management.

Duties and Essential Functions of a Fiscal Analyst 3:

This senior-level position is part of a team responsible for processing a variety of accounting functions which include analyzing, interpreting and ensuring proper posting of financial transactions.

Some tasks and activities performed include:

Reviews, monitors and reconciles accounts.

Monitors and reviews AFRS transactions for accuracy and completeness before interfacing into AFRS system on a daily basis.

Ensures all payment documents, transfers and journal voucher corrections are accurately reflected in the financial reporting system.

Performs a daily audit of transactions and cash management activity to ensure clear and accurate data are maintained in the accounting system.

Develops, coordinates and maintains automated system for the Attorney General's Office legal services account.

Processes daily cash receipts with cash disbursement to determine appropriate agency programs recoveries, revenue source of other applicable funding are posted accordingly.

Reviews and reconciles agency’s payables general ledger accounts for twelve separate funds.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

To Qualify at the Fiscal Analyst 3 level:

Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two to three years of relevant professional experience.

To Qualify at the Fiscal Analyst 2 level:

Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one to two years of relevant professional experience.
