Job Title: eDiscovery Counsel – Minneapolis, MNJob Overview:A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, seeks an experienced eDiscovery Counsel to manage and advise on electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and Information Governance in complex litigation and investigative cases. This role involves direct client interaction, drafting essential discovery-related documents, and collaborating with co-counsel, experts, and client teams. The ideal candidate will contribute to thought leadership initiatives, provide strategic insight into eDiscovery best practices, and participate in relevant industry organizations.Key Duties

Deliver high-quality, strategic legal advice to clients, focusing on eDiscovery and information governance.Identify potential legal risks, perform detailed legal analysis, and propose solutions to complex discovery issues.Draft and review key discovery documents, including protective orders, ESI agreements, and discovery memoranda.Prepare talking points and outlines for client meetings, custodian interviews, meet-and-confers, and hearings.Lead client engagements with minimal oversight, ensuring high standards and efficient work product.Collaborate with experts, manage discovery tasks, and prepare them for testimony.Develop and implement annual business development plans to attract new clients and foster existing relationships.Mentor junior team members and build cohesive client-focused teams.Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting eDiscovery and information governance.Participate actively in industry groups and support firm-led thought leadership and development initiatives.Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm, focused on eDiscovery and related areas.Experience managing complex litigation and investigation matters with minimal supervision.Demonstrated expertise in legal research and the ability to draft intricate discovery-related documents.Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree.Active admission to the Bar in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, Washington, D.C.Skills

Superior judgment with a capacity to perform well under pressure.Client management skills with a track record of maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.Strong knowledge of eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy law, as well as awareness of current and emerging legislation.Proficient in project planning, leadership, and team-building within client engagements.Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Advanced analytical abilities and strong problem-solving skills.Technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office and eDiscovery tools.Job Location
