Job Overview:

A leading law firm in Los Angeles, California, is seeking a dedicated Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its Personal Injury department. This role focuses on overseeing and managing pre-litigation matters, ensuring the best outcomes for clients through effective case management and negotiation. The Pre-Litigation Attorney will collaborate with multiple departments, including Workers’ Compensation, and be instrumental in handling claims from inception through settlement. This position offers a great opportunity for attorneys with experience in personal injury law to grow within a dynamic legal environment.Location:Duties:Oversee and manage up to 250 pre-litigation matters with the assistance of case managersAssist case managers in managing medical treatment for pre-litigation casesConduct investigations for pre-litigation and potential litigation mattersMaintain an open-door policy for case managers to present matters for reviewNegotiate pre-litigation settlements and provide direction on case valuationRetain medical and legal experts as needed for case evaluationSupervise up to five pre-litigation case managersMaintain ongoing communication with clients and staff throughout the pre-litigation processConduct legal research on relevant issues, prepare legal documents such as summons and complaintsPropound and respond to written discovery, draft meet and confer lettersPrepare clients for depositions and other hearings, including minor’s compensation hearingsDefend and take depositions, handle law and motion, and attend mediations and court appearancesConduct monthly file reviews with team members and oversee liability investigationsManage medical aspects of cases, including reviewing medical reports and recommendationsRequirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active CA State Bar membershipMinimum of three years of experience in a Personal Injury law firmStrong interpersonal skills and ability to manage "problematic" clientsAbility to handle case evaluations, investigations, and settlementsFamiliarity with Workers' Compensation terminologyStrong written and verbal communication skillsBilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred but not requiredEducation:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Licensed to practice law in CaliforniaSkills:Strong knowledge of medical and legal experts, mediators, and arbitratorsAbility to negotiate settlements and manage pre-litigation casesProficiency in MS Office, LEXIS-NEXIS, and WestlawStrong organizational and case management skillsKnowledge of Workers' Compensation timelines, premises liability cases, and related legal statutesComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) planLife insurance coverageCompany infoJob InformationHumanaAssociate VP, Technology Solutions, PharmacyinTorranceCaliforniaDescriptionThe Associate Vice President of Technology Solutions acts as a liaison and collaborates with the business and functional stakeh...Intellectual Property Transactions AssociateLos AngelesWe have an immediate opening for an Intellectual Property Transactional Associate with three to five years of experience.
