We are seeking a dynamic Director of Warehouse Operations (DWO) to lead the operations of our Distribution Center. This role encompasses managing expenses, compliance, safety, security, and workforce management. The DWO will be responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and motivating warehouse team and staff. The DWO will closely collaborate with other departments to meet our business objectives while ensuring exceptional customer service and product flow.
The ideal candidate will foster a positive branch culture aligned with AHA's mission, engaging employees and driving motivation. Additionally, the DWO will assess talent needs, focus on recruitment and development, and implement operational strategies backed by data analysis to enhance customer service and address AHA's requirements. Acting as a brand ambassador, the DWO will also engage with the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Performance:
Monitor warehouse performance and profitability, providing recognition for achievements and making necessary adjustments. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Human Resources, Safety & Asset Protection, Sales, and Support Teams. Performance Improvement:
Identify performance barriers and leverage cross-functional resources to address issues. Financial Oversight:
Manage P&L statements and utilize financial reports to inform strategic decisions. Operational Efficiency:
Seek opportunities to enhance staffing productivity and overall branch efficiency. Associate Engagement:
Empower team members to make decisions and take ownership of their roles. Leadership Development:
Foster a culture of trust and support training initiatives, removing obstacles to employee growth. Feedback and Improvement:
Encourage continuous improvement through feedback on leadership performance. Change Management:
Prepare and support the team in adapting to changes within the organization. Talent Management:
Hire, train, and coach Associates, aligning individual goals with organizational objectives. Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce safety programs and guidelines. Travel Requirements:
Travel throughout the company store locations as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
5 years of leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or large retail settings, with at least 3 years in P&L Management. Cross-Functional Relationships:
Proven ability to build relationships in a matrixed environment. Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ERM and CRM software experience is a plus. Personal Attributes:
Strong ability to drive engagement, assess and develop talent, and focus on customer results. Physical Requirements:
