Quartz is seeking an innovative leader to join our leadership team as a Director, Data & Predictive Modeling. Develop and execute the strategic vision for data science and predictive modeling that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.Collaborate with senior executives, clinical teams, actuarial teams, and provider sponsor data teams to identify business challenges and opportunities where data science can provide solutions.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and analysts responsible for designing and implementing machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling to support risk stratification, clinical outcomes, patient engagement, and operational efficiency.Ensure successful integration of predictive models into business processes, providing actionable insights to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.Ensure the integrity, quality, and accuracy of data used in predictive model development and outputs.Monitor and evaluate the performance of predictive models in production, ensuring they meet the intended objectives and comply with regulatory requirements.Drive the evaluation and selection of advanced analytics tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance the organization's data science capabilities.Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, uncover trends, and generate actionable insights; communicate complex data science concepts and model results to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline; equivalent, relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.10+ years of relevant experience using data science to deploy predictive models and analytics solutions to improve patient care through innovative data solutions.3+ years of leadership experience, preferably overseeing data scientists and analysts.Advance proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and query tools (SQL, Aginity, MedInsight, Business Objects, Impact Intelligence, etc.).Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar language(s).Experience using data science tools such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or SAS.Advanced knowledge of healthcare data, including claims, EHR, patient demographics, and experience working with large, complex datasets while complying with regulatory requirements related to healthcare data and predictive modeling.Advanced knowledge of health industry standard reimbursement methodologies (i.e. Medicare and Medicaid) and knowledge of health insurance market rules and regulation, with the ability to apply that knowledge to understand and advise on key business decisions.Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques.Demonstrated advanced skill with Excel.Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery of analyses and reports.Ability to be inquisitive and creative in developing analytical tools and presentation formats.Ability to build effective, consultative business relationships and offer valuable insights and guidance to internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and SMEs.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Quartz offers an excellent benefit and compensation package, opportunity for career advancement and a professional culture built upon the foundations of Respect, Responsibility, Relationships, and Resourcefulness.
