The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role PurposeThe IT Applications Developer is responsible for working within a team of IT Application Developers & Analysts, contributing to the effective development, implementation, and support of IT solutions to meet internal customer requirements within the plant. This role involves strategic planning, team collaboration, and direct involvement in projects to enhance IT system efficiencies and business operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesWork within a team of IT professionals in designing, developing, and supporting software systems in close cooperation with operating departments.Contribute to the integration and implementation of externally developed IT systems.Assist in maintaining high availability and smooth production processes for all IT systems utilized within the organization.Cooperate with internal customers, interpreting business needs into technical solutions across system and application levels.Aid in the analysis, response, and resolution of complex issues reported through help tickets or other documentation, ensuring compliance with business requirements.Support the implementation of IT components and manage complex IT solutions catering to new business demands and maintenance.Provide troubleshooting for applications within the plant environment.Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Experiences/Education - RequiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.Experience in participating in IT teams and projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to contribute to decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Proficiency in SSRS, PowerBI, .NET, and T-SQL; experienced in supporting and developing applications using these technologies.Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.Experiences/Education - DesiredExperience with industrial IT systems such as CAMSTAR, OSI PI, and PAC.Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with SAP & ServiceNow.In-depth knowledge of manufacturing systems and experience managing IT solutions in a manufacturing environment.Technical certifications in Cisco, SAP, Microsoft, with a preference for candidates with extended training or certifications beyond short courses.Knowledgeable in enterprise/client hardware and networkingLocationHemlock, MI (this is an on-site position)

The range for this position is $61,167.00 - $84,105.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
