The VP, Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and scalability of our beauty product distribution company.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the company's operations, including supply chain management, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and overall operational strategy. We are seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record of success and will develop efficient processes, maintain high standards of quality, and lead the operations team towards achieving key performance metrics. This role is located in Brooklyn, NY.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Management:
Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Set clear goals and expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement professional development plans for the team.
Operational Strategy:
Develop and implement operational strategies that align with our company's growth objectives and customer-centric vision.
Supply Chain & Logistics:
Oversee supply chain management, ensuring effective coordination between vendors, 3PL and internal teams.Optimize inventory management practices to maintain stock levels that meet demand while minimizing carrying costs.Manage and minimize chargebacks effectively.
Process Optimization & Technology Management:
Leverage data analytics and technology to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance operational efficiency.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for operational processes.Manage the integration and use of operational software and tools, ensuring that systems are utilized effectively and consistently across the team.Oversee EDI integration and SAP utilization to streamline order processing and fulfillment.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the Product, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure seamless operational support for business activities.Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to enhance overall business performance.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
Manage operational budgets, track expenditures, and work with the Finance team to develop cost-saving initiatives.Ensure that operations are conducted within budgetary constraints and that financial performance is optimized.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Maintain high standards for product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all operational activities.Implement and enforce quality control measures and best practices.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate ad hoc reports as necessary, providing insightful analysis.Regularly present a clear and comprehensive picture of the current operational state to management, suggesting actionable solutions for improvement.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.7+ years of experience in operations management, within the beauty or consumer goods industry.Proven track record of leading and scaling operations teams in a fast-paced environment.Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory management.Proficiency with SAP, TrueCommerce, or other relevant operational software systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional results
