.Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst. In this role, the successful candidate as the Revenue Cycle Systems (RCS) team provides technical expertise and application level support for various hospital revenue cycle software modules including Epic across NYU Langone Health. The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst is a mid-level position under the direction and supervision of a Lead Revenue Cycle Analyst within the RCS team responsible for understanding revenue cycle operational workflows and application configuration.Job Responsibilities:Uses critical and analytical thinking to perform analysis and system configuration related to support processes that include but are not limited to eligibility, coding, charging, billing, reimbursement, remittances, and follow-up.Understands the requirements and expectations of the processes used in supporting hospital billing applications.Establishes working relationships with Revenue Cycle Operations, System Vendors, MCIT, and end users under the guidance of RCS Management to provide attentive service that meets high-quality standards and has a direct impact on their operational workflows.Functions as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO), Information Technology (IT), and 3rd Party Systems.Takes initiative to proactively identify and resolve system issues by seeking appropriate input and engagement from leadership.Works independently but collaboratively with other RCS team members on various projects to meet organizational and departmental goals.Demonstrates knowledge of NYULMC service standards, New York State Hospital regulations, and Federal HIPAA guidelines and is compliant throughout the performance of duties.Remains calm and objective when facing challenges and setbacks when dealing with daily tasks/projects.Strong understanding of HL7 interfaces, EMRs, HIPAA transactions, and security protocols.Understands the charging systems and required methodologies needed to validate MCIT testing.Continues to develop professional skills in the information systems and health care fields through magazines, manuals, constructive feedback and applies them to work tasks.Embraces new opportunities and challenges with a can-do attitude.Attends user and internal team meetings. Attends two continuing education and two HIPAA security training courses.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree, 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or technology related field, ability to demonstrate analytical/communication skills and computer proficiency, and the ability to work within deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in an area such as business, finance, technology, or related field; 2-3 years of experience in hospital revenue cycle operations or healthcare technology related field; Certified in one or more Epic modules, preferably Resolute Hospital Billing/Claims.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU Langone Health provides its staff with far more than just a place to work.
