We embrace diversity, inclusion, and individual skills, ideas, and knowledge.Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pathology Labs Systems Manager.The Laboratory Operations Systems Manager is responsible for bridging the gap between laboratory operations and MCIT. This position will manage operational projects to support Laboratory Directors, managers, and medical directors, in operational aspects of laboratory systems in Anatomic, Clinical, Molecular and Blood Banking laboratories at the Main Campus and ensuring support across the health system labs as necessary. In collaboration with Senior Laboratory leadership, formulates and establishes an integrated support as directed.Job Responsibilities:Serves as the primary point of contact between laboratory operations and MCIT. Facilitates management of operational issues related to all LIS systems (Epic Beaker, Sunquest, Wellsky, Phillips, Lab Vantage, and Big Purple).Project Management:

Develops plans, establishes timelines, and project plans in conjunction with laboratory leaders across all departments and MCIT. Facilitates this work by creating collaborative deliverables and timelines to ensure timely completion and execution of IT projects from an operational perspective.Analytic Support:

Stewards the development and delivery of data reports from all laboratory information systems and Epic to enable the laboratories to maintain and improve operations. Leverages data analytics and performance metrics to identify areas for optimization and implement targeted solutions.Policies and Procedures:

Develops and maintains laboratory policies and procedures that relate to Laboratory information systems. Ensures all policies and procedures are standardized across all campuses and comply with NYS State DOH, CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency regulations.Communication:

Collaborates with MCIT to manage system level communication regarding routine updates, upgrades, and downtimes in all laboratory areas.Quality, Safety, and Operational Efficiency:

Spearheads laboratory initiatives to streamline workflows related to Laboratory information systems. Works with MCIT to present various patient safety issues to enable collaborative work on solutions. Manages projects to improve operational efficiency, quality, and safety within the laboratory environment.Project requests:

Submits and manages MCIT project requests for the department and partners laboratory managers to provide information needed for new MCIT projects. Monitors shared MCIT and Lab ops project timelines, and tickets statuses. Works with leadership and MCIT to ensure system prioritization.Instrument validation planning and execution:

Liaison between laboratory and MCIT to ensure all validation plans are approved prior to implementation. Ensure any cross-campus validations are approved by appropriate lab directors.Equipment vendor and MCIT Collaboration:

Works with laboratory managers to understand when vendor onsite visits occur and notifies MCIT of visit status and coordination of testing prior to reconnecting with LIS. Assists with coordination of vendor onsite visits to the laboratories if needed.Performs all other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:1-3 years of prior work experience in a professional setting and a Bachelor's degree.Ability to collect, analyze and understand data trends.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to write reports containing technical information.Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures within a patient care facility.Strong analytical skills; working knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Vision.Word processing and/or data entry skills.Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.Sensitivity to confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA is required.Preferred Qualifications:Masters Degree in public health, laboratory sciences or Health Informatics.5-7 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting.NYS Clinical Laboratory Licensure or ASCP Certification.Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories preferred.Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards preferred.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU Langone Health provides its staff with far more than just a place to work. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $135,541.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
