Senior Database AdministratorAtlanta, GAOverview:

Join our esteemed international team of Database Administrators who manage critical systems around the globe. In this dynamic role, you will support the complete life cycle of applications, guiding them from development through testing and into production. Your expertise will be pivotal in both traditional waterfall and modern agile development environments, managing databases that range from department-level to multi-terabyte, enterprise-wide systems.Key Responsibilities:Global Database Support & Lifecycle Management:Provide comprehensive support for databases on-premises and in the cloud.Support new projects by applying best practices for high availability, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.Ensure 24/7 operational support for Oracle, Informix, and SQL Server databases worldwide.Database Administration & Daily Operations:Handle database installations, patching, performance monitoring, and tuning.Document design, accessibility, and maintenance processes for database systems.Performance & Optimization:Design, develop, and maintain optimized databases across development, testing, production, and training environments.Implement high availability and disaster recovery database solutions.Act as a liaison between IT personnel and business units, ensuring seamless communication.Work collaboratively in a global support environment, demonstrating initiative and professionalism.Identify and implement database tools to enhance development, management, and utilization.Engage with advanced database solutions such as AOAG and replication for disaster recovery.Required Skills and Experience:BS/BA in Computer Engineering, MIS, or equivalent degree.10+ years of experience as an SQL DBA.8+ years of experience in writing and tuning SQL queries.8+ years of experience with disaster recovery solutions.6+ years of experience in managing database backup and restores.Proficiency with Oracle or Postgres is a significant advantage.Experience in a 24/7 global support environment.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of multitasking.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Additional Skills and Experience:Understanding of VM and cloud computing.Understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, and DNS.Experience with Azure is advantageous.Familiarity with Informix, MySQL, or Postgres is a plus.
