Our Fraud & Risk technology team is seeking a highly motivated senior software engineer. You will help deliver in one of the best travel technology organizations in the world, ensuring our data and systems are secured with the best standards and technology solutions. In this position, you will design and implement systems that will help prevent fraudulent activity and security breaches on Expedia’s websites, protecting our customers, partners and suppliers. You will develop distributed systems that scale up to millions of transactions.Additionally, you will make important contributions to building out the world's best travel platform. The solutions you build will have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line and day to day operations.What you’ll do:Mentor and lead team members and advocate for quality coding, design and optimal processes.Collaborate with peers, leaders and partners across functions and business groups to come up with technology solutions to business problems.Actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design/architecture, development, testing, release and support.Solve complex problems by utilizing the right development methodologies, producing scalable, flexible, efficient and maintainable solutions using appropriate technologies.Implement and operate high-quality technology solutions based on 3rd party and in-house technologies for securing Expedia Group's resources and its customers' data.Maintain, monitor and improve our solutions and systems with a focus on service excellence; apply industry standards and new technologies to improve productivity, quality, and system performance.Who you are:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.6-8+ years of experience in a Software Development Engineer or similar role.A self-starter who is consistently looking to innovate and find ways to enhance our customers' experience, with ability to own solutions end to end.Strong technical proficiency, capable of problem solving and applying critical thinking. A deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures.Strong communication skills. You articulate your ideas to peers and leaders, providing details and supporting your ideas with data where applicable.You enjoy and take pride in the work of your team. You focus on the team's technical operations and have a strong desire to lead by example.Prior experience working with distributed systems, object-oriented programming languages such as Java, SQL and NoSQL database.The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
