Systems Architect
is responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems, and brainstorming possible improvements that can be made to a system in the future.Main Responsibilities:Responsible for overall system electromechanical and control architecture concepts and design for both existing and new products.Design and document overall systems architecture for new complex electromechanical systems, risk areas, potential technical approach(es), specifications to meet defined program requirements.Lead technical engineering efforts of design project teams.Review designs of other engineers to ensure designs meet technical and safety needs of programs. Act as inhouse expert providing technical oversight in engineering programs.Act as a mentor to help develop skill and knowledge of other engineers and employees.Work in a proactive collaborative manner in a team-oriented environment to achieve overall program and business goals.Work with project team to define program work scope, deliverables, technical and manufacturing requirements, stake holders, budget, and delivery requirements for a project.Identify key risks in designs or product and work with team on mitigation plans and/or prototype tests to reduce/eliminate risk of mechanical designs.Maintain high quality level by organizing reviews of own work and participating in reviews from other designers.Ensure designs meet product specifications and comply with industry and regulatory standards.Provide assistance as required to Engineering Management and/or Sales in investigation and/or estimating of new projects.Participate and support quality and business processes such as DFMEA, PFMEA, 8D, etc.Produce presentation and documentation as needed for engineering and customer reviews of design work.Work with team and other functions on continuous improvement efforts.Support manufacturing in troubleshooting issues during first article builds and integration as well as standard product as required.Maintains a professional manner to enhance the company's image with customers.Performs other related duties as assigned.Occasional day and overnight travel, as required.
Education Level:M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or higher preferred. Equivalent work experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
Relevant Previous Experience:At least 10 years of design experience with a demonstrated high level of competency in designing complex electromechanical equipment and high purity gas and liquid supply systems.Semiconductor equipment design experience with a focus on high purity systems and electro-mechanical engineering design preferred.Chemical Engineering Design incorporating Mechanical Engineering, System architecture, or related work experience preferred.
Knowledge Areas/Skills:Detail oriented, logical thinker, with the ability to work independently on multiple competing priorities with moderate supervision in a professional engineering environment.Knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering design and analysis standards and practices, which includes combining mechanical design and design for hazadous or flamible high purity gases and liqiuds, vapor phase change and fluidic systems designNX, Solidworks, AutoCAD, PLM, SAP, Visio knowledge, and experience engineering to SEMI Standards are a plus.Ability to interact with customers and outside vendors.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Good foresight and strong analytical thinking skills.Quick learner with the ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time.Be willing to work flexible hours.
Salary Range:
