Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the preparation of internal and external communications and publications. Provides support in communicating the corporate image through researching, writing and editing, press releases, white papers, speeches, internal communications, online communications and other related documents. May influence public opinion, corporate ranking, and policy decisions through strategic communications activities. Maintains frequent contact with senior internal personnel as well as external representatives. Selects, writes, and reviews editorials and special articles. Develops, recommends, and maintains editorial policy. Gathers data and interviews sources to obtain items for publication and to verify facts; assigns or approves artwork; and approves final proofs and page layouts, and websites. Coordinates production and distribution of material. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop communications and marketing materials by writing, editing and preparing press releases, promotion materials, articles and other key marketing documents for the Company. Develop a plan and schedule for communications projects to meet business objective(s). Monitor and report inaccuracies in publications while anticipating and coordinating crisis communications. Identify and prepare key opinion leaders and internal spokespeople to provide perspective and insight to the media. Recommend changes/updates/modifications to editorial practices and participate in making revisions to communications policy ensuring all company compliance and ethics standards are met. Develop material for internal distribution, including internal websites and social media. Initiate and coordinate all phases of graphics, photography and video projects. Maintain relationships with media and advocacy organizations while acting as liaison with external media. May act as primary contact for internal and external sources. Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Job Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline, and three or more years of progressive professional experience in the marketing or communications field. Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education. Must have a general knowledge of marketing and communication principles and concepts along with an understanding of marketing and communications practices, techniques, and standards. Experience in defense and/or aerospace industries is preferred. Experience with social media management and digital communications tools is desired. Experience in storytelling, drafting news releases, writing for executives. Experience developing Power Point briefings is required. Experience analyzing and reporting metrics. Must be customer focused and possess: the ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately convey information to a variety of audiences. excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers and external parties. excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required. The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required. Salary: $56,820 - $96,015 J-18808-Ljbffr
