This hybrid role is designed for an experienced attorney with a strong background in insurance defense and a passion for handling complex litigation.Duties:Collaborate with fellow attorneys within the defense group to develop effective legal strategies.Engage in a diverse range of cases, including construction litigation, premises liability, product liability, and transportation liability matters.Conduct legal research and draft comprehensive briefs, motions, and discovery documents.Manage a litigation caseload of 30-40 files, ensuring thorough preparation and adherence to deadlines.Oversee all phases of defense litigation, from initial case assessments to trial preparation and execution.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in Illinois.A minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance defense and litigation.Portable business is welcomed but not mandatory.Experience in construction, premises liability, product liability, and/or transportation claims is highly desirable.Prior experience as an expert witness and participation in trials is preferred.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.Certifications:Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.Skills:Strong analytical and research skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proven ability to manage multiple cases effectively and efficiently.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-directed.This position presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated attorney to further their career in insurance defense while contributing to a dynamic legal team in Chicago, IL.
