The position involves handling a high volume of litigation cases from inception through trial, ensuring compliance with the firm’s litigation guidelines. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in insurance defense, particularly in areas such as automobile liability, premises liability, and high-exposure cases. This full-time role offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation while providing high-quality legal representation to clients.Duties:Draft responses to summonses and complaintsInitiate and respond to written discovery requestsPrepare and argue motions in courtRepresent clients in all court appearances, including arbitrationsSchedule and conduct depositions and examinations under oathPrepare for and attend trials, managing cases through verdict when necessaryMaintain consistent file reporting and case management, including file reviews and diary controlRequirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law schoolMinimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, particularly in areas like automobile liability, premises liability, and high-exposure casesExperience in all phases of litigation, including trials to verdictStrong understanding of insurance law and civil practice rulesAbility to analyze complex legal issues and identify relevant case lawEducation:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active state bar membership (required)Skills:Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and courtroom proceduresStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage multiple cases and meet deadlinesExperience in high-exposure and complex litigation cases
