A law firm seeks an experienced and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its insurance defense practice in Fairfax, VA. This hybrid position provides an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of civil litigation matters, including premises liability, employment, automobile cases, fraud, coverage, and construction defect issues. The successful candidate will be able to work directly with clients, manage their caseload, and gain valuable experience in all aspects of the litigation process, from strategy development to trial preparation.Duties:Represent clients in insurance defense matters, including premises liability, employment, automobile accidents, fraud, coverage disputes, and construction defect cases.Work with clients to develop defense strategies and provide legal advice.Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.Handle a caseload independently while collaborating with senior attorneys for case strategy and guidance.Engage in direct client communication and maintain strong, ongoing relationships.Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions to resolve cases effectively.Conduct legal research to support case development and defense strategies.Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.Contribute to the firm’s overall success by actively participating in team efforts and maintaining a collegial working environment.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice in Maryland, with additional licenses in Virginia and Washington, D.C. preferred.2+ years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense.Strong legal writing and research skills.Ability to manage and prioritize a caseload independently.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.Experience in handling discovery processes, depositions, and trial preparation.Ability to think critically and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Maryland State Bar is required; Virginia and Washington, D.C.
