We are currently in search of a Director of Finance for a Social Services Organization located in Chicago, IL. This is a Part-Time (20 hrs./wk.), Fully In Person, Temporary assignment. ORGANIZATION: Social Services LOCATION: Chicago, IL POSITION TITLE: Director of Finance SCHEDULE: Part Time (20 hrs./wk.); Fully In Person DURATION: Temporary (ongoing) HOURLY PAY: $42-45/hour Is This Your Dream Job? Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will oversee all financial operations and direct financial planning and structure for the organization and its programs Our Ideal Candidate: . Bachelor's degree required (ideally with an MBA/CPA-related degree) At least 7 years of overall professional experience required Minimum 5 years of nonprofit accounting, broad financial and operational management experience required 2 years of experience in grants management required Familiarity w/ IDHS Grants for the State of Illinois required Experience in presenting financial data to management, multiple Boards, and Federal, State, and Local agencies is highly preferred How You Will Spend Your Day: Financial Management Report to Executive Director. Oversee all financial operations and direct financial planning and structure for agency and programs Collaborate with the Executive Director, Development Director, and Program Director to create, monitor, and maintain adequate budgets Coordinate, maintain, analyze, and communicate the financial performance to Management, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors (Monthly Financial Status, Budgets, Cash Flows, and other special projects as required) Oversee Accounting, Audit, and Tax functions, coordinate and lead activities with outside audit firms, Grantee officers, etc., and preparing internal financial statements and footnotes Presentation of Financial Audit to Finance Committee and Board of Directors Develop, implement, and maintain accounting, human resource, and administrative policies and procedures as necessary to improve the finance department's overall policies and procedures Attend meetings with the Executive Director as necessary for the financial performance of the organization Attend training and conferences as necessary for proficiency in nonprofit accounting operations Attend monthly Director's Meetings, Finance Committee Meetings, and Board of Director's Meetings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements by researching, consulting, and filing financial reports, applications, etc; completing monthly tracking of all grants Complete monthly reconciliation/review of General Ledger (including Fund Raising to GL integration), providing Staff Accountant with Journal Entries as necessary Review and approve all invoices for payment, monthly rent rolls, providing GL coding, Accounts Payable Summaries, and Bank Reconciliations Review and approve all Federal Grant Voucher Drawdowns before processing. Process Vouchers Work with the Development Director on Foundation Grant applications, budgets, and financial reports Complete Quarterly payroll reconciliations between Payroll Software and the General Ledger Detail Oversee financial procedures at organizational fundraising events as necessary Oversee Client Billing and Payment Tracking Work closely with the Compliance Officer for Medicaid billing as financial data is necessary Maintain Petty Cash Account Maintain Participant Gift Card Program Human Resources Work with the Executive Director and outside organizations to maintain proper Employee records Enter Salary Changes into Payroll Software, IRA, and other Employee Benefits Software Review and approve Payroll Summary Time Sheets and Payroll Reports before processing Review and approve IRA Reports before processing Enter Payroll info into 3rd Party System, and Enter IRA into the system. Print Reports for Accountant to enter into G/L Proficiency in all aspects of nonprofit accounting and all pertinent GAAP, GAAS, A-133, A-122, and other accounting principles and pronouncements We'd love to hear from you.
