Position Summary:
The Johns Hopkins Imaging Clinical Services Manager is responsible for providing operational oversight and expertise for Johns Hopkins Imaging Financial Clearance.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Administration or Health Science and Policy.• Equivalent job-related experience is acceptable at a ratio of 2:1.
Work Experience:
• Five years working in a multi-payer health insurance and financial environment• Two years minimum in a leadership role (Managerial or Supervisory position.)
Licensure/Certification:
Must acquire and maintain certification on host registration, medical record systems, and all other systems pertaining to the registration, scheduling, and financial clearance processes.Initial EPIC certification and all other systems to be obtained during the introductory 90-Day Probationary period.Knowledge/Skills:
Possess basic medical and insurance terminology; basic knowledge of medical insurance healthcare plans.Candidate requires basic knowledge of registration, financial clearance and front-end Time of Service collection practices.Must thoroughly understand regulatory requirements related to government insurance plans, especially regarding insurance clearance.Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of both JHH/JHHS and JHU Human Resource policies and procedures to provide basic HR services such as payroll, time management and progressive counseling.Work requires advanced interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of administrative, clinical and external stakeholder and to manage the activities of multiple lines of business.Experience with word processing; proficient with Microsoft Word, familiar with Excel and Power Point Office 10 or later version.Keyboard - Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.Candidate requires excellent verbal communication, telephone manner, interviewing and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, members of the health care team and external agencies.Candidate requires analytical skills to resolve problems to provide patients and referring physicians with information and assistance with financial clearance and billing issues.Candidate requires intermediate math skills as obtained in a High school (or GED) Pre-Algebra course.
