Position Summary:
Provide systems administrator support for Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux and web-based systems within the NWS PR in order to allow the Government to ensure all systems are operational and functioning properly in order for the NWS to meet its mission.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide support for Microsoft Windows Active Directory infrastructure including domain controllers, file servers, DHCP servers and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Provide support for Red Hat Linux server and workstation infrastructure Provide support for Microsoft Windows 7 desktops and laptops Provide user administration (setup and maintaining account) Maintaining system hardware and software Ensure all hardware and software are working properly Troubleshoot and repair any system failures and performance or security issues Install, support, and maintain software Provide data backup and recovery Monitor network communication Patch systems with latest security updates Monitor logs for performance and security issues Update systems with new versions of application software Provide documentation of system changes and updates Implement federal, NOAA and NWS policies as directed Provide monthly status report on work accomplished with hours performed per task Provide software and database sys admin and development support for NWS PR and all operational applications. Improve data ingest, storage, and processing for all applications on the NWS PR systems. Be responsible for applications written in multiple web scripting languages. Develop, maintain, and audit databases. These databases should include, but not limited to weather, observational, and other NWS PR data and related statistical parameters and database tables. Develop query, analysis, maintenance, and reporting capabilities. Develop applications in compliance within Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards for geospatial applications Required Knowledge/Experience:
Windows 10 desktop Microsoft Office 365 Active Directory SharePoint SCCM File Servers LAN network equipment (installation and maintenance)
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and transition between projects Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds above the waist

Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract Perform other duties as assigned
