Requirements / Qualifications
Under direction of a Senior IT Technician or an administrator, candidate is responsible for hardware/software, telecommunications support, hardware diagnosis, repair and maintenance in the micro-based data processing and telecommunications environment. Candidate will assist in providing technical guidance to end-users and support appropriate district-wide technology.
Education and experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and a basic knowledge of PC and telecommunications equipment, operating systems and disk interface, and diagnostic methods. Candidate must have knowledge of repair of PCs and Macintosh; DOS, Windows 95, 98, NT, & Macintosh OS; materials methods and tools used in the repair and installation of telecommunications equipment; Cisco ATAs, Cisco VoIP phones, SRST routers; appropriate configuration, maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of CAT5/CAT6 cabling; word processing, spreadsheet, email and internet applications; hardware/software installation and configuration.
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential. Good people skills using tact, patience, and courtesy when working with end users is also essential. Possession of an appropriate California operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
