General Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, this position is accountable for performing in an objective manner a variety of Q.C. related tasks, including periodic testing, training and record keeping. Assist others, as directed, or required.
Essential Duties:
Perform a wide variety of quality control inspections/tests involving specialized knowledge of test equipment and of effects of process variables on product, particularly in terms of usage of materials.Coordinate plant operations on a control level.Numerous contacts with all levels of management, including factory supervisor, machine operators, development engineers, process engineers, and technicians. Tact required in building and maintaining relationships. Occasional contacts with outside technical representatives in problem-solving on processing or material questions.Assist Q.C. Manager in instructing and training hourly employees in measurements and responsibilities; keeping records and interpreting data and results; carry out special assignments by the Q.C. Manager and Director of Quality Assurance.Assist Laboratory technicians in use of test equipment, in conducting tests, or in preparing specimens, when so directed.These are the general duties required to fulfill the

Education and Experience Preferred:
Minimum of high school diploma, or equivalent. Advanced education beyond high school preferred, but not required.Three years wire and cable experience minimum. Cabling and Extrusion experience/knowledge helpful.Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of wire and cable manufacturing processes/operations. Capable of reading and interpreting wire and cable specifications. Capable of arithmetic including fractions and decimals. Knowledge of statistical data as they relate to processes.Objective, sound judgment necessary.Ability to work with minimal supervision essential; as a specific problem arises, consultation with immediate supervisor or other appropriate personnel expected.Must be confidential and discreet. May work with confidential or proprietary information on processing or constructions, disclosure of which could be against Company interest.Factory environment - exposure to noise, fumes, dust from chemical compounds, hot temperatures, and machinery.Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
