Electronic Assembler II
Job Description
As an Electronic Assembler II, you will utilize a variety of tools and equipment to assemble parts, pieces, modules, and components to required specifications for Navigation Aides, Surveillance Radios, and other products as required. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the assembled products.
Responsibilities
Ensure work-station is in proper working order (clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, tools ready, personal protective equipment is applied, etc.)
Review BOMs or Work Orders for each project, take inventory of parts and materials, and make determinations of acceptance/rejection for parts based on quality of workmanship
Review wiring charts, diagrams, engineering assembly drawings, or other schematics to understand board layout, proper placement, and orientation, and take any needed measurements
Prepare solder pot (pre-tin soldering iron, pre-tin parts as needed, etc.)
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and vision magnification to complete mechanical assemblies as needed
Cut wire and vinyl tubing to specified lengths
Install component parts such as resistors, diodes, LEDs, integrated circuits, dip sockets, PLCC sockets, capacitors, inductors, transistors, voltage regulators, and microchips into Circuit Boards or Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
Install connectors to correct polarity and pinout specifications
Operate wire crimps and inspect terminals for proper crimp
Combine sheet metal, PCBs, cables, or harnesses to produce modules
Assemble components and modules up to the top system or “cabinet level” according to IPC standards
Ensure systems and sub-systems meet industry and established specifications
Make any necessary corrections (remove/replace elements, remove/reapply soldering, check connections, measure battery voltage and polarity, etc.)
Ensure timely product delivery by adhering to deadlines per Scope of Work agreements
Perform any other required job duties as assigned
Complete any re-work as necessary when prompted by other stakeholder departments
Interface with Engineering and Production departments for product reliability
File Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with supervisor approval when needed
Essential Skills
2+ years of manufacturing assembly experience
HS Diploma or GED
Experience with electronic manufacturing (preferred)
Knowledge of IPC 610 (preferred)
US citizenship or US permanent residency
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Skills in electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, and circuit board assembly
Proficiency with tools such as calipers, soldering equipment, and wiring schematics
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and circuit diagrams
