Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.POSITION SUMMARYAs a Senior Data Engineer at Telecare, you will spearhead building the company's analytical and business-intelligence infrastructure. You will have widespread purview, with responsibility for understanding, mining, aggregating, and exposing data across the entire business to support timely and efficient decision-making and data exploration. You will own Telecare's data integration platform and build/maintain robust, scalable data pipelines, ETLs and ELTs. You will also manage, support and enhance Telecare's existing data warehouse and business intelligence reporting environments. You will elevate data quality standards and define strategies for improvement.QUALIFICATIONSRequired:* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.* 6+ years of experience in a data engineering and/or data analysis role.* 4+ years designing and building ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines and complex transformations.* 2+ years of experience architecting and implementing enterprise data solutions.* Experience in SAP Data Services (BODS) OR ETL design experience with similar platforms.* All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, a valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Must be 18 years of age.Preferred:* Master's degree in computer science or engineeringESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders* Design, build, install, test and maintain scalable data integration and data reporting systems.* Provide leadership and expertise in the development of data catalogs, data definitions, data governance, data processing principles, design patterns and practices.* Establish and maintain data standards & policies to drive consistency and standardization for all data assets.* Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices* Research, evaluate and integrate new data management technologies, data engineering & integration tools.* Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.* Triage data problems and data-related issues.* Provide concise data reports and clear data visualizations for management.* Work with IS leadership, organizational stakeholders, and customers, to understand business challenges and work with IS leadership to formulate relevant strategy.* Provide overall technical leadership, design and oversight to strategic IT projects that impact data integration, data analysis and data reporting.* Working in collaboration with different IT teams to develop a vision that reflects the strategic goals of the IT organization.* Take direct responsibility for end-to-end oversight and execution of key health information data projects to ensure they satisfy Telecare and customer requirements.* Build and develop relationships with customers and business partners to influence strategy, direction and goals.* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (project managers, business analysts) to execute tactical plans.* Direct ownership of tasks (hands-on completion of task as required).* Serves as subject matter expert for troubleshooting of complex business issues.Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.SKILLS* Expertise in SAP Data Services, both in design and development of ETL/ELT jobs, job scheduling & monitoring, ad-hoc data loads, resolution of load failures, data validations & reconciliations.* Proficiency in data modeling techniques and tools, including ER modeling, dimensional modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio)* Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data lakes, and data warehouse platforms (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery)* Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig* Advanced knowledge of relational databases and query authoring (SQL)* Understanding of structured and/or unstructured databases and data models.* Understanding of web services standards and technologies such as: WS*, JSON, REST, GraphQL etc.* Experience with data visualization tools/platforms, such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, D3.js etc.* Familiarity with cloud-based and on-premises enterprise applications such as: NetSuite, SAP, Oracle ERP, Salesforce, Workday, etc.* Experience working in a healthcare setting with PHI data preferred.* Good scripting and programming skills.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach and do simple and power grasping.
