This Software Engineer will be at the forefront of developing & delivering cutting-edge applications on Tesla's advanced generative AI platform. Your primary focus will be on building & enhancing core components of the generative AI system, ensuring they are both efficient and scalable. You will collaborate closely with team members to translate complex research ideas into robust, production-ready services. This role requires a strong foundation in modern machine learning frameworks and a proven ability to deliver working reliable solutions in production environments. Responsibilities

Ship reliable, cutting-edge generative AI applications on Tesla's in-house platformImprove & maintain the underlying components of the generative AI platformExtract as much performance and utility out of specialized hardware as possibleHelp solve a wide variety of far-reaching problems using modern AI- and ML-based techniquesWork in the challenging space of transferring concepts between research ideas to productionized servicesDeliver products and services that have wide-ranging impacts for their usersRequirements

Experience delivering real-world generative AI applications, especially ones based around Large Language Models (LLMs)Practical experience with the Python ML ecosystem (Tensorflow, PyTorch, JAX, LangChain, TGI/vLLM, etc.)Knowledge of Python internals for techniques necessary to scale to large numbers of concurrent usersProficiency in taking ideas from research prototypes and deploying them into productionized servicesA track record of shipping reliable applications that require minimal support and incur minimal downtimeA healthy respect for inherent complexity and a deep suspicion of accidental complexityCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$140,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
