Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Assesses the adequacy of established procedures that safeguard tribal assets. Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Casino operations while participating in auditing activities.

CORE SCOPE OF POSITIONPrepares programs, checklists, work papers, schedules, and summaries in accordance with applicable standards.Develop recommendations to address audit results and to strengthen minimum internal control standards and policies and procedures.Prepares audit reports to document findings in accordance with professional and department standards.Conducts independent analyses and evaluations of the gaming operation to determine compliance with regulations.Responsible for possessing a thorough understanding of and keeping current with NIGC and State regulations.Periodically review proposed Policies and Procedures and recommend changes in order ensure compliance with NIGC, State, and local regulations.Conduct audits in the manner set forth by department directives.Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned.INTERACTION

Does not provide supervision to other team members.Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistics, probability, and interest.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to define and solve problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standards exist.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.Must have knowledge of all internal audit requirements of a gaming facility.Must have knowledge of applicable laws, internal controls, Tribal Gaming Ordinances, Tribal Gaming Commission Regulations, Tribal/State Compact, and casino policy and procedure.Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.Ability to multitask and work well under stress.Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change.Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.Required Experience

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

Four-year degree in a business-related field, or a two-year degree in combination with two years of experience in the gaming industry.EXPERIENCE

Must be 21 years of age or older.
