Under general direction of the Acquisition and Development Branch Manager, the incumbent is an electrical/mechanical engineer and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of Resource Acquisition Section and also serves as a Lead of the State Power Augmentation Program (SPAP). The incumbent is responsible for supervising Senior specialists and entry level engineers in the research, criteria, and technical analysis on new and innovative low and zero-emission technologies; including temporary gas generation, battery energy storage systems, fuel cell, etc. Act as the Lead DWR representative for contractor engineering proposals, provide and oversee guidance on criteria and limitations on electrical and mechanical equipment with all legislative requirements under Division 29, Water Code Section 80700, and direct the preparation of manuals, standards, and procedures for inspections, self-certification, and engineering and operations analysis; including managing inspection and commissioning activities.
