Network Engineer needed for a 9+ Month Contract in Onsite in New York, New York!
Our client is looking for a Network Engineer to perform L 1/2 support responding to network faults. This position is full-time onsite.
Responsibilities:
Manage Fault and Performance monitoring systems for large enterprise network infrastructure with Campus, branch and data center locationsAddress alerts and other network events (fault and performance), responsible for break/fix maintenanceProactively address capacity requirements for normal operation (IP allocation, system resources, port availability, bandwidth, WiFi coverage)Escalation point for Helpdesk, and assist in troubleshooting infrastructure related issuesWork with vendor tech support teams to identify and fix issues and perform Break/Fix as neededSupport regional counterparts in network maintenance as requiredAct as project lead for hardware and software lifecycle maintenance activitiesNetwork Access Control system maintenance and operational supportDay-to-day maintenance of Enterprise DHCP/DNS systemsSupport Wireless network infrastructure and assist in troubleshooting wireless problemsQualifications:
5 plus years of experience in Enterprise Network supportSolid understanding of networking fundamentals, routing, switching, security protocols and the ability to read/understand packet capturesExperience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst and Arista switchesUnderstanding of Network Security fundamentals including proxies and firewallsFamiliar with Network Access Control Systems (Cisco ISE / Forescout CounterAct etc)Experience with Network Management systems such as Solarwinds, NetMRI, EMC Ionix (EMC Smarts)Good understanding of Incident and Change management principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independentlyHave the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with solid attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong problem-solving skillsWe'd Love to See:
Experience in the financial industryExperience with 3rd party applications such as Splunk, and JiraWorking in an Agile environmentExperience working with VMware ESXiExperience with structured cabling
