The Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing processes to raw materials into finished products including soldering, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc. The Assembler follows directions from lead people and supervisors, follows bluebird instructions and general best practices to manufacture high quality products, to specification and on-time.Reasonable Accommodations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential FunctionsRead and understand all written work instructions (bluebird).Verify kitted raw materials (quantity and proper items).Followdirection from Lead Operator / Supervisor.Learn and execute all required steps of the build process including soldering, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc.Maintain proper identification / labeling of parts through all process steps.Workcooperatively with other departments such as Marking and QC.Follow all company policies and all safety guidelines.Determinethe difference of a good/bad heater, circuit, and wire wound panel.Inspect his or her own work to make sure it is acceptable to the requirements and description of the product. Average eyesight is necessary.Clean raw materials and finished parts using cleaning solutions (such as Isopropyl Alcohol and/or water), air hoses, and cloths.Pick heater pads to expose area to solder/weld.Prepare PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) application and the bladder press for PSA.Tape heaters on boards for potting/conformal coating.Coverleads-potting, conformal coating, under cover with patches, or doghouse.String heaters and terminate leads with copper crimps.Operate Spartanics and die clicker machines.Cut required materialsKeep work area clean and organized: sweep, mop, wipe, and put items in proper place.CompetenciesOral Communication - Ability to communicate clearly in English.Communication - Ability to read English, especially detailed work instructions.Math skills: Must be proficient in basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.Blueprint Literacy - Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine and follow materials requirements and assembly instructions.Teamwork - Ability to cooperate and communicate professionally with supervisors, VSCs, working leaders, coworkers and all other Birk employees.Flexibility - Must be flexible and be able to adapt to changes throughout a workday.Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.Applied Learning - Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience.Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.Organized- Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.Responsible- Ability to be held accountable or answerable for ones conduct and work.SafetyAwareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.Honesty/ Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.RequirementsMust have previous manufacturing experi nce.Basic Math knowledge.Welding in a manufacturing environment preferred.Must have experience with and have the ability to execute all required steps of the build process including soldering,
