Duties:
Under the general direction of the VP/Finance, responsible for managing the Credit Union's financial assets, creating and managing budgets and business plans, ensuring financial stability, and overseeing investment, funding and hedging activities in conformance with established policies and procedures of Rockland Federal Credit Union.
- Manages the Credit Union's investment portfolio and borrowings, including but not limited to loan participations and other products. Maintains current knowledge of market conditions and recommends investments within limits of established policies, strategies, and existing regulations.
- Oversees daily cash management and ensures optimal cash flow to support Credit Union operations. Executes financial transactions promptly and accurately. Manages organizational budgets and forecasts to optimize financial health.
- Develops and executes investment policies and strategies that align with the Credit Union's financial goals and objectives. Monitors investment performance, adjusting as necessary to achieve financial targets.
- Monitors the organization's liquidity position to meet financial obligations as they arise. Strategically manages bank balances and short-term investment strategies to optimize interest earnings and minimize costs.
- Serves as the leader of the Asset Liability Committee. Provides information, analysis, and recommendations for effective asset/liability management.
- Collaborates with senior management to develop strategies for achieving long-term financial goals. Analyzes market trends and financial data to recommend effective financial planning approaches.
- Leads the budgeting process at the Credit Union; collects assumptions, liaises with departments to gather assumptions and needs for growth, creates financial projections and strategic recommendations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least 5 years' experience in a financial and management setting, preferably in a credit union environment. Self-starter with the ability to analyze data and effectively problem solve. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach and motivate a team. Understands proper GL structure and how to build accounting processes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours/week.
