As a Part-Time Paralegal, you will help draft, review, and manage contracts and other legal documents that are vital to the smooth operation of our institution. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and other legal documents in compliance with legal requirements and college guidelines.
- Conduct legal research to ensure that legal documents comply with local, state, and federal laws and college policies.
- Maintain and organize legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Assist in the preparation of legal memoranda, correspondence, and reports.
- Track contract deadlines and key dates, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with terms.
- Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information for contracts and agreements.
- Ensure proper execution of legal documents and maintain records of signed contracts within the college's contract management database.
- Assist with special legal projects and provide administrative support as needed.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- At least two years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on contracts preferred.
- Familiarity with contract law, legal terminology, and legal document formats.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience working in an educational setting or with public institutions is a plus.
Supplemental Information
This part-time position offers approximately 15-20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the legal department
