Job Overview: A dynamic and well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trial & Litigation Associate to join their Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will be working within a collaborative and high-performing team, engaging in complex crisis litigation, including constitutional law, civil rights claims, wildfire litigation, COVID-19 litigation, eminent domain, and more. This role requires a candidate with 4-6 years of litigation experience and offers an exciting opportunity to handle all phases of litigation, from pleadings to trial and appeal, in both state and federal courts.
Duties:
Litigation and Trial Work:
- Engage in all stages of litigation, from drafting pleadings to trial preparation, including trial and appellate practice in state and federal courts.
- Craft and implement strategic litigation approaches, particularly in complex and high-profile cases.
- Handle motions, discovery, and electronic case management, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Case Development:
- Build cases by gathering evidence, conducting witness interviews, and managing depositions.
- Develop compelling and persuasive legal arguments, particularly in nuanced constitutional matters.
- Conduct legal research and provide written analysis on various complex legal issues.
Collaboration and Client Interaction:
- Work closely with a team of attorneys across different office locations.
- Maintain strong client relationships by providing strategic legal advice.
- Contribute to elevating the firm’s brand through high-quality work and successful case outcomes.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of litigation experience, with significant experience in managing complex cases.
- Experience with electronic discovery and law and motion practice.
- Proven ability to develop legal strategies and manage cases from discovery through trial.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Bar admission in the state of California and in good standing.
Skills:
- Superior research and writing abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and advocacy abilities, particularly in presenting nuanced arguments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across different office locations.
- Experience in eminent domain or real estate law is highly preferred, but not required.
