Job Summary

The Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and quality compliance programs across all operational areas. This role combines key responsibilities from the Quality Supervisor and Production Manager roles to ensure a safe and efficient work environment that meets all regulatory and internal quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and enforces safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Investigates accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develops and delivers safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Promotes a safety-conscious culture throughout the organization.
  • Oversees the maintenance of safety equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
  • Stays informed of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to safety.
  • Develops and maintains a quality management system (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 or other relevant standards.
  • Oversees the implementation and adherence to quality standards, procedures, and best practices throughout the production process.
  • Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manages external audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of inspections, audits, corrective actions, and other quality-related activities.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that quality standards are met and maintained throughout the organization.
  • Monitors and analyzes quality data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.
  • Develops and implements corrective and preventive actions to address identified quality problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Supervises and mentors the Quality Control team and our governmental compliance initiatives (OSHA, EPA, other Federal Agencies, ect.)
  • Assigns tasks, sets priorities, and monitors workload distribution to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Fosters a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, encouraging open communication and problem-solving.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.


Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Safety and Compliance Leadership role required -(state regulations, Tier II reporting, federal regulations, Safety Stand Down process, ect.)
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices for safety.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is required. Experience in Press/Print preferred.
  • Familiarity with management systems and standards such as ISO 9001:2015.
  • Background in Continuous Improvement and leading initiatives preferred.
  • Financial acumen preferred.
  • Experience with statistical process control, data analysis tools, and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Thorough understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
