Position Summary
The CAS Manager is responsible for overseeing 5-10 clients and will review all month-end close adjustments and financial statements prepared by the CAS associate or senior associate, if not preparing the adjustments themselves. They will also assist with the annual financial statement audit and tax return preparation, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interact with clients and build relationships to ensure their accounting needs are being met
- Oversee and supervise CAS associates and senior associates
- Supervise and review all month-end procedures and adjustments
- Be responsible for the completion and delivery of all financial statements or compilation reports
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit, including preparing or reviewing workpapers, providing audit support, and managing correspondence between the client and auditor, as needed
- Assist with the preparation of the annual tax filings, including requesting additional support from the client and assisting the tax department with any questions they may have
- Review and analyze client internal controls and make suggestions as needed
- Prepare and/or update engagement letters
- Prepare invoices based on hours worked to bill to clients
- Self-review all workpapers, financial statements, and other documents before submission for further review
- Look for opportunities to provide additional services to clients
- Plan engagements to achieve overall increased quality goals and reduce time required to perform an engagement
- Communicate budget issues and escalate concerns to the director as soon as possible
- Recognize potential problem areas in engagements and suggest potential solutions to the director
- Actively participate in recruiting, coaching, and developing associates
- Demonstrate effective research skills and utilize appropriate research tools
- Take ownership and assume responsibility for work assignment
- Delegate work and leverage resources whenever possible
- Participate in auditing and/or tax presentations and programs presented by the Firm as well as contribute to material on the firm website
- Proactively pursue professional development, completion of CPE requirements, and new opportunities for career and professional growth
- Participate in firm administrative functions as being on firm committees or the firm service area (professional services, real estate etc.)
- Participate and get involved in the community (boards, local groups, etc.)
- Assist in administrative tasks to further the department
- Assist in acquiring and onboarding new clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred
- QuickBooks experience required
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
- Strong organization, verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as proficiency with all accounting software necessary (including QuickBooks Online)
- Sage and BILL software experience a plus
- Non-profit experience a plus
- Licensed CPA preferred but not required
