LMI is seeking a skilled Software Architect to support a client in the Colorado Springs, CO area.

Responsibilities
In this role you will work directly with the architect, software developers, engineers, and data analysts to expand an existing framework of the enterprise version of our core modeling and simulation (M&S) software. Extensive experience with Python and Java is a must, with firm knowledge of Gitlab CI/CD processes. You will also work with node.js and TypeScript when interacting with the front-end developers. This is a chance to use your skills to build and rapidly scale a micro-service-based architecture on a cloud system. AWS or other cloud experience is helpful but not required. The software will support collaborative simulations and analysis for the warfighter and potentially many other areas of the U.S. Government. The successful candidate must enjoy working in a highly innovative fast-paced environment, where you not only answer difficult questions, but you also help formulate the questions themselves.
Furhter you will be pivotal in supporting and directing efforts in the following areas:
Rapidly developing code using best practices and test-driven-development in a fast-paced environment
Expanding existing code for micro-services in a distributed, elastic, environment
Breaking complex systems down into simple services for simulation and modeling of scenarios
Collaborating with other engineers to leverage feature development across projects
Actively participate in all agile sprint ceremonies
Demonstrating your developments to customers
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 12 years of professional development experience or master's degree in a STEM field with 8-10 years of professional development experience.
Proven experience in an agile environment.
Agile software development experience, with the ability to develop products both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work across disciplines.
Ability to give and take feedback.
Self-start, follow-through, complete projects from start to finish.
Possess or be willing to be processed for a U.S. Government security clearance at the TS level. Possibility for upgrade to TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Desired:
Advanced degree in related discipline
Space domain experience.
Experience using both Scrum and Kanban
Java: 3 years' experience
Python: 3 years' experience
TypeScript: 3 years' experience
Experience with Simulation software is preferred.
Target salary range: $128,000 - $229,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
