Job Summary

The Large Market Sales Manager needs to be a dynamic, quick thinking, and strong leader with a real passion for excellence and persuasive communication skills. We are looking for someone with management experience in the institutional employee benefits space, with a focus on employee benefits design, retirement plan and insurance sales. Someone who thrives on engaging with others and successfully building relationships with plan sponsors, plan consultants, and brokers alike, to grow our business. In this role you will lead a team of senior sales executives who create or strengthen relationships with key decision makers or other influencers at institutional plan sponsors as well as plan consultants/advisors. Your primary focus will be on coaching and problem solving for these sales leaders as they work to close new business primarily for 403b church plans for universities, hospitals, mission sending organizations, ERISA plans, and other faith-based ministries including an annual production requirement. It will be important for you to be able to identify not only professionally but also personally with our mission of serving those who serve the Lord.

What You'll Do

Building and implementing the business plan to achieve growth/new business goals for large institutions by driving a team towards results. Coaching your team to identify key prospect and targets and demonstrating proficiency in both the discovery process and moving through the Know, Target, Prospect, Value, Commit stages. Partnering with Marketing and other internal business partners to execute lead generation marketing campaigns, cold calling, emails, and RFPs. Consulting in the developing and delivering sales presentations. Managing multiple facets of the sales process with multiple opportunities including coordinating meetings, content, follow- tasks, phone calls, proposals, presentations, commitment, and initial stages of onboarding. Inputting accurate and timely information into CRM relative to sales process and data necessary to create realistic sales and revenue projections. Seamlessly transition sold clients to the Relationship Manager/Client Service team. Providing input on market trends, competitor analysis or other business insight gathered in the field. Assisting Retirement Relationship Managers on retention and participating on key initiatives within the company will be important to success.

What You'll Need
  • 10+ years proven sales leadership experience.
  • 10+ years of large market insurance and retirement plan sales or relationship management
  • In depth knowledge of retirement plan and Insurance sales products and services, preferably within the institutional not-for-profit retirement services market
  • Travel requirement of 25%
  • A competitive personality with strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to quickly establish trust and confidence.
  • Strong knowledge of 403(b)(9) plans required, church plan and ERISA knowledge helpful.
  • Possess keen business insight and results driven.
  • Record of business development through new plan sales and retention
  • Ability to communicate effectively: strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Persuasive and compelling style with experience at conflict resolution
  • Advanced ability to think analytically and act strategically.
  • FINRA 6,63,& 26 licenses
  • Membership in a Southern Baptist Church strongly preferred.
